Ortigas & Company to use SAP

One of the country’s major real estate developer, Ortigas & Co. Limited Partnership, has commited to start the implentation of it’s modernization by using the SAP software. Ortigas & Co. will be using BT Properties, a tailor-made software solution developed by BayanTrade, a local channel partner of SAP.

The software which features functionalities such as marketing campaign management, sales contract management, lease management, and reporting and analytics will allow Ortigas & Co. to increase the efficiency of it’s operations. Drilon II, the company’s chief operating officer, said the SAP software will make them “very agile, able to respond to market demands faster, and deliver products quickly” in a cost-efficient manner and a scale that is higher.

The SAP software implementation is estimated to be done in six months and is expected to help in boosting the company’s targets for the upcoming years.

Free Unlimited Yahoo Instant Messaging

Globe has recently introduced it’s Unlichat service. Unlichat allows you to use your mobile phone to chat with your Yahoo Messenger buddies. Unlichat is an application that you can download from Globe that enables you as a Globe subscriber to use Yahoo’s instant messaging service.

Until October 4, the Unlichat service of Globe Telecoms will be free of charge. If you are a Globe mobile service user, just download the Unlichat software and you can start chatting with your friends.

The following handsets are currently supported:

Nokia: 3230, 6120c, 6630, 6680, N70, N73, N76, N80, N95, E65
Sony Ericsson: K610i, K800i, K810i, W810i, W910i, W880i, W660i

Looks like Motorola and Samsung mobile phone users will have to wait a little longer but the list of supported mobile phones is being continuously updated by Globe.

The service will be free of charge during the trial period from September 5 – October 4. After October 4, subscribers will be prompted to purchase credits to use the service:

P25 for 1 day unlimited access
P100 for 5 days unlimited access
P200 for 15 days unlimited access

To avail of the currently free service, you can text CHAT to 2979.

You will get an SMS with the link www.unlichat.com. Click on the link or open it from your mobile internet browser. Click the BUY link to download the UNLICHAT application through your phone’s internet browser. (Note that Price is P0.00 and that downloading of application is free of charge.)

Responsibilities

Qualifications

Working knowledge of the Capability Maturity Model, preferably familiar with Level 2/3.
Demonstrable experience to technically design and architect enterprise class applications.
Experience of working with code, component, and message repositories.
Good understanding of hardware infrastructure and how this must be applied in enterprise applications, particularly to support contingency.
Good understanding of networking technologies and principles.
Good understanding of Software Configuration Management strategies and tools.
Excellent understanding of Object Orientated Analysis and Design and Component analysis.

Workshop on Building Competencies in Managing Instruments

The Operating Room Nurses Association, Inc. (ORNAP) in collaboration with Aesculap Academy Philippines will conduct a seminar-workshop entitled “Lecture and Workshop on Building Competencies in Managing Instruments”.

This workshop/seminar aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of Peri-operative Nurses, CSSD, and Operating Room Clinical Instructors in handling surgical instruments. In particular, it intends to review current practices on the care and maintenance of surgical instruments; to provide updates on the different types of reprocessing of surgical instruments; and lastly, to provide recommendations on the proper care and maintenance of basic and surgical instruments.

The seminar is scheduled on the following dates and venue:

October 17, 2008, November 11, 2008 and December 12, 2008
